A journey - not a marketing claim.
A&C Systems helps brands grow sustainably by removing complexity. The same principle applies to us: as our business grows, we have a responsibility to reduce the environmental impact of our operations.
Introduction
As a distributor and logistics partner, we recognise that our activities have an environmental impact.
Our carbon footprint stems primarily from the energy we use, the way our people and goods move, and the day-to-day running of our facilities. Understanding where that impact comes from is the first step to reducing it.
For us, sustainability is an ongoing journey rather than a marketing exercise. It is built into how we plan, invest and operate, and it evolves as our understanding and the available technology improve.
We are committed to transparency and continuous improvement: measuring honestly, reporting openly, and holding ourselves accountable to the progress we set out to make.
Our commitment
Reduction of our scope 1 & 2 emissions by 2040 — aligned with recognised frameworks and industry best practices.
We measure our footprint rigorously and concentrate our efforts where they matter most. To get there, we focus on three areas where we can make a measurable difference.
Energy
Cutting the energy our buildings consume and shifting the rest to renewable sources, including electricity generated on our own rooftops.
Mobility
Electrifying our vehicle fleet and rethinking how goods and people move to lower the emissions tied to transport.
Operations
Running leaner, more efficient operations — from facility optimisation to smarter processes that reduce waste and energy use.
Renewable energy
Our solar, from above.
In 2024 our rooftop installations generated 74 MWh of clean electricity on-site — power produced exactly where we use it.

Measuring what matters
Meaningful progress starts with knowing where emissions occur.
We have measured our footprint since 2021 in line with the GHG Protocol, covering Scope 1, Scope 2 and the relevant categories of Scope 3. Consistent measurement is what turns intention into accountable, year-over-year progress.
Our progress
The most important metric is improvement.
Scope 1 & 2 carbon footprint reduction in a single year, from 2023 to 2024.

Actions we have taken
Concrete steps, already underway.
Expanding renewable energy
We continue to expand on-site solar generation, producing 74 MWh of clean electricity from our own rooftops in 2024.
Transitioning to green electricity
Our Zaltbommel site runs on a green electricity contract, ensuring the power we draw from the grid comes from renewable sources.
Electrifying our vehicle fleet
A multi-year transition is steadily replacing combustion vehicles with electric alternatives across our fleet.
Improving building efficiency
Insulation upgrades and targeted energy measures are reducing the energy our buildings need to operate.
Looking ahead
Reducing our own emissions is only part of the challenge.
The larger share of our footprint sits in scope 3, the emissions across our supply chain and the products we move. Addressing it calls for a longer-term roadmap and close collaboration with the partners we work with.
Sustainability is a shared responsibility.
Real progress comes from working together. With the brands we represent, our partners and suppliers, and our own people. We invite you to build a more sustainable future alongside us.
